Prosumers and Bamboo

Why is bamboo a logo for Prosumers?

I have had people ask why bamboo is a symbol for Prosumers. Interestingly, there are many reasons. For one, bamboo is almost universally thought of as a sign of good luck and friendship. This is exactly what we want people to feel from the Prosumers.

Also, it has been noted when times are tough and there is no water, a bamboo can stay dormant for years and then upon getting some water, the plant grows at an incredible pace. This reminds me of the journey many Prosumers have had. They come upon hard times where there is no growth and then someone introduces Recovery. The next thing you know, they are working, going back to school and living their dreams. This is a Prosumer.

Bamboo is a green and renewable plant used for flooring, food and so many things. Like bamboo, we are so multi-talented and can do so many things.

Some cultures think the beginning of life came from bamboo and some in the Prosumer Program think their life began at Prosumers as well.

All and all, the bamboo is a great symbol for Prosumers. It is strong, beautiful and yet flexible, able to bend. When looking for our logo, I thought this is a perfect symbol of the life of someone in Recovery. And so today, it represents who we are and what we do!
