Are you, or someone you know, pretty much a homebody. Few friends, not a lot of human contact? Does it seem like the calls you get are only those reminding you of doctor’s visits or to pay a bill? No friendly voice calling to check in.
Prosumers is starting a new service called, “How Are You?” These are calls you can sign up for. You choose the day, the time and the frequency. A specially trained volunteer will call you to say, ‘Hi! How are you?”
The volunteer will be trained to ask you questions to help you to hopefully see something for yourself that makes you smile.
The call will not be long, no more than 10 minutes, but hopefully that is enough to make your day! We can’t promise it will be the same volunteer every time, but will work to honor such requests. When you sign up, you will get a welcome phone call to verify details and you will be put on the schedule.
We are taking applications now, but the service won’t start until August.
If you are interested in being a volunteer and being trained to do How Are You calls, you can indicate that on the application. Go to the Prosumer website and click on More Services to fill out your application.
